Xeomin is a botulinum toxin-based injectable treatment that is designed to improve the appearance of the vertical frown lines that form between the brows. Xeomin uses the same active ingredient as Botox, but leaves out other ingredients that are not required to treat these facial lines and wrinkles. Dr. Michael Workman can perform a personalized Xeomin treatment to help restore a youthful and well-rested appearance.

Preparing for Your Xeomin Treatment

Prior to your Xeomin treatment, Dr. Workman will go through the procedure steps with you and discuss the risks and benefits of the injectable. As a non-surgical treatment, there is little preparation needed and you can usually have your treatment performed during your lunch hour. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine as soon as Dr. Workman is done making the needed injections.

Dr. Workman will mark the injection sites when you come in for your Xeomin treatment. You will not require any local or general anesthesia for this injectable procedure. Your Xeomin treatment should take no longer than 30-45 minutes and you will be able to return to work or other activities shortly after.

Xeomin Aftercare

Minor side effects may occur, including slight bruising, redness, or sensitivity. You should avoid any unnecessary sun exposure for the first few weeks and must always use sunscreen whenever going outside to protect your skin. If you experience any allergic reactions or pain, please contact our office immediately.

When to Expect Results from Xeomin

It will take some time for the effects of Xeomin to improve the appearance of frown lines. Most patients will begin to see results at about five days after treatment, and final results at roughly 10 days. The effects of your Xeomin treatment should last for up to 3-6 months, after which you may choose to undergo touch-up treatments to maintain your youthful appearance.
