Before the Procedure

Before beginning your treatment of Perlane, your skin will be cleansed. Injection sites may also be carefully marked on your face, which Dr. Workman will use as a guide. Perlane contains lidocaine for your comfort, but a topical anesthetic may be administered at this time, if necessary.

The Procedure

When he begins the procedure, Dr. Workman will carefully inject the Perlane solution into the skin at the site of the wrinkle. He may use a special technique, such as crosshatching, to provide an even appearance. Dr. Workman may also gently massage the injection site with his hand. After the Procedure

These side effects are temporary, however, and swelling may dissipate with the application of an ice pack.
