Certified Operating Rooms

Serving Vancouver and the Portland, Oregon area

Our Medicare-certified operating rooms (the OR) were designed by the same architects who designed the cardiac surgery suites at Southwest Washington Medical Center. Built in 1998, the OR has a 40,000 watt backup generator and state-of-the-art ventilation and lighting. Emergency medical equipment is identical to that in the hospital. We are proud of our safety record.

We use board-certified anesthesiologists rather than Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) for our major plastic surgery procedures to ensure your complete safety and comfort. An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in giving anesthesia to patients during surgery. Following medical school, certified anesthesiologists spend 3-5 years learning how to safely take care of patients during surgery.

Operating rooms must pass the highest, most stringent standards to obtain Medicare certification. You can be assured that a Medicare-certified, state-licensed facility has emergency power available, proper ventilation to avoid the spread of germs and has passed rigid tests to ensure the sterility of surgical instruments.

Certification is not mandatory for office operating rooms, and while it is more expensive to become certified, our uncompromising standards of excellence will allow us to do no less for our plastic surgery patients.
